[a much too long poem]
…
We’re just dreamers
Holding onto dandelion seeds
Wishing upon dear and dead old dreams
~
We’re running out of breath
Afraid of falling to our death
So we close our eyes and press our little lungs a little harder
~
Now even strength is just a weakness
Now its time to fall
Let this dandelion seed die
Sleep and dream
Tomorrow you’ll stand tall
~
Instead of sleeping,
I woke up, thinking it was wiser
Someone said it’s just called growing up
Stop believing the lies here
~
I tried to outrun myself, good plan
But when I slowed to catch my breath
I caught up and slapped myself like a rubber band
~
We’re just dreamers
Holding onto dandelion seeds
Wishing upon dear and dead old dreams
~
Now even strength is just a weakness
Now its time to fall
Let this dandelion seed die
Sleep and dream
Tomorrow you’ll stand tall
~
But I still believe in fairytales
Where right and wrong are real
Where my friends and I don’t make the rules
Based on what we feel
~
I still believe in magic
Like real love and loyal friends
I believe in adventures
In walking around the world to get home again
~
I will always be a dreamer
But I will ride on the sun and it’s change
Knowing sunrise brings the sunset brings the sunrise around again
